  • The Big Game

    February 07, 2018

What connection does El Paso have with Super Bowl LII? None other than UTEP’s very own Jon Dorenbos! He played with the Miners from 2000 – 2002 before playing 11 years with the Philadelphia Eagles. Before the start of the season last year he was traded to the New Orleans Saints. During the team physical he discoverd an aortic aneurysm and had to undergo open heart surgery. The surgery saved his life but ended his career. However, Jeffrey Lurie, owner of the Eagles, invited Dorenbos to the game and told him if the Eagles win he would receive a Super Bowl ring as an honarary member of the team. When Tom Brady’s pass fell incomplete as time expired, Dorenbos was on the sideline celebrating with his former teammates as Super Bowl champions! CENTURY 21 APD Associates congratulates Mr. Dorenbos and the UTEP community for this outstanding acheivement. Fly Eagles, Fly!
